2 Recycling Limited was founded in 2007 by two directors, Milo Hanshaw and Stuart Elliott, who made the decision to enter what is a very crowded market place in order to showcase and become a stand out example of what is possible at the high end of metal recycling in the UK. Stuart & Milo very quickly established the company as a new generation of metal recyclers dealing only Business to Business, supplying graded metal to end users to use as secondary raw material in one of the best examples of a circular economy.
Over the last 17 years the two directors have built a strong team around them who are all dedicated to providing the best possible customer service with the ultimate traceability afforded to metal recycling in the UK. We introduced our ‘photographic weighbridge tickets’ back in 2013 and these are considered by many as the industry leading benchmark, further demonstrating our lead over most of our competitors who are unable or unwilling to ‘evidence’ the weights and clarity afforded by using our system.
In 2018 we became part of the investment group CorpAcq Ltd and joined their £600m portfolio of diverse manufacturing and service group of companies. CorpAcq have invested heavily into 2 Recycling and in 2020 we moved to our new £4m 90,000sqft building here in Grantham. The investment has allowed us to work more safely and have the ability to grow at a faster rate than we were able to in our last premises. The continued investment planned for this year and next will enable us to handle more metal and reach more customers who can benefit from our professional and transparent approach in this often less than clear industry. In 2021 we also became a certified Carbon Neutral business helping all of our customers offset their Scrap Metal related carbon emissions, probably the first in our industry to do so. We achieved this again in 2022 & 2023 and it is our intention to do so for 2024.
2 Recycling Ltd benefits from being centrally located in Grantham, Lincolnshire, from where we provide our next day collection and bin exchange service across most parts of the UK. From our centralised location our vehicles and account managers are always travelling in and around most areas of the UK, so we are never very far from you. We have become established as the ideal partner to help you move away from the old traditional ways of selling scrap metal into the new ‘evidence based’ system which will help you gain the best financial returns for your scrap metal, and help you look after your environmental compliance requirements, almost no matter where you are based. An added benefit of our system for all manufacturing and engineering companies is that our system dovetails really well into existing ISO Management Systems, and if you are trying to gain these accreditations then there is no better way than using our proven paperwork system.

HD Photographic weighbridge tickets
Our tickets give you unparalleled traceability of your scrap. A colour picture of your scrap, sent directly to you, showing the weight on the weighbridge. Ask your current provider for this and see what they say.
Bin tracking system
We make sure we always know which bin came from which customer. We clearly record the bin numbers we have collected on the Waste Transfer Note. These same numbers will appear on the weighbridge ticket and final material valuation, No more confusion
Robust paperwork trail
Waste Transfer Notes, EWC codes, pre-collection notification sheets, photographic evidence of what scrap was in each of your bins and finally a detailed payment/summary sheet and where appropriate a certificate of destruction ensuring scrap metal or surplus stock cannot come back onto the market.
Free Storage Containers
Our large selection of metal and plastic leak proof bins and skips are loaned free of charge to our customers. Many of our containers pack flat and take up much less space on your site when empty.
Our range of fully leak proof and high security locking containers for swarf management/storage and high value/outdoor storage is impressive. Our range of both plastic and metal bins can be viewed here, however if you do not see a container that suits your needs please get in touch as we may be able to provide a bespoke solution.
UK wide collection service using our own fleet.
We take a lot of care and attention to ensure that when it comes to collecting your scrap our free service is always professional and very prompt, typically the next working day. Selling your scrap metals to 2 Recycling also means that we arrange, control and collect it from you, using our own trained and considerate employees.
Not only do we track and trace your scrap metals we also have satellite tracking systems installed in all of our own vehicles to ensure your scrap arrives safely at our central depot for offloading into our secure warehouse. Where you have loading issues, we can easily take care of it for you and load it with our own lorry mounted forklifts.
Your own account manager
One of the biggest complaints we often hear is that our potential customers don’t know who to speak to for queries at their current Scrap Metal Merchant. Here at 2 Recycling you won’t have that problem as you will have a dedicated account manager assigned to you so that you always have an easy point of contact in your dealings with us.
Certificates of Destruction
When you have some scrap metal or surplus stock which cannot ever come back onto the market then look no further. Use our destruction services that issues a certificate of destruction once the process is complete.
